Bitter Gourd with Tuna

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon non fat cooking oil
  • 1/4 cup sliced onions
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon black beans
  • 2 cups long beans, cut into 1" length
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 3 cups sliced bitter gourd
  • 1/2 cup canned tuna(in water or brine)
  • 1 small head lettuce
  • Salt to taste



Procedure:

  1. In hot oil, saute onions until transparent.
  2. Add water, tomato sauce and black beans, Simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. Add Long beans, oyster sauce and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add bitter gourd and continue to simmer for another 3 minutes.
  5. Add tuna and sprinkle with salt.
  6. Mix well before turning off the fire.
  7. Arrange lettuce leaves on a serving plate, place beef on top before serving.
